Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun Meets with New Djibouti Ambassador to China Hassan

On May 8, 2009, Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met in the Foreign Ministry with new Djibouti Ambassador to China Hassan. During the meeting, Zhai said China and Djibouti share profound traditional friendship and both sides have trusted each other and treated each other as equals since the establishment of their diplomatic ties 30 years ago. Both countries have also conducted fruitful cooperation in the economic, cultural and educational sectors and maintained close communication and coordination in international affairs. China appreciates and thanks for the Djibouti government's adherence to the one-China policy and support of China's grand cause of reunification.

Hassan said Djibouti and China enjoy a time-honored friendship and have witnessed smooth development of their ties. The Djibouti government adheres to the one-China policy, he pledged, adding that he is ready to play a positive role during his term in pushing forward bilateral friendly cooperative relations.
